Who we are

Meet Gabriel Hershberger, M.A., CCC-SLP, the founder and owner of ClearTalk Therapy. With over a decade of dedicated experience in speech-language pathology, Gabriel brings a wealth of expertise to helping individuals of all ages achieve clearer communication and improved quality of life.

Gabriel earned his Master of Arts in Communication Disorders with a specialization in Speech-Language Pathology from Northern Illinois University in 2014. Prior to that, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from Goshen College in 2001, majoring in Music Performance with a minor in Multimedia Communication—a unique foundation that infuses creativity and technology into his therapeutic approach. He holds the prestigious ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and maintains active licenses in California, Texas, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Florida (for telehealth services), along with teaching certificates in Illinois and Pennsylvania.

Throughout his career, Gabriel has provided comprehensive speech and language interventions across diverse settings, including virtual teletherapy for school districts serving preschool through high school students with varying needs, from mild to severe impairments. His experience spans caseload management, IEP recommendations, supervision of speech-language pathology assistants, and administering virtual assessments like the CELF-5, GFTA-3, PPVT-5, and EVT-3. In healthcare environments, he has delivered evaluations and treatments for cognitive-linguistic, voice, speech/language, and swallowing disorders in skilled nursing facilities, home health, acute inpatient rehab, and sub-acute care across multiple states.

Gabriel's hands-on roles have included itinerant early intervention consulting, leading classrooms for children with IEPs, conducting videofluoroscopic swallow studies, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support patients with conditions ranging from aphasia and autism spectrum disorder to brain injuries. His clinical journey also features graduate experiences in long-term acute care, community hospitals, and social skills play groups, complemented by research in vocal fold movement and presentations on innovative tools like Tinytap for educational iPads.

As the visionary behind ClearTalk Therapy, Gabriel is passionate about leveraging both in-person and telehealth models to deliver personalized, evidence-based services. Whether addressing articulation challenges, language development, or swallowing difficulties, his goal is to empower clients and families with the tools for confident, effective communication. With honors like a Northern Illinois University Graduate Student Teaching Assistantship and participation in ASHA's S.T.E.P. Mentoring Program, Gabriel is committed to excellence and innovation in the field.

At ClearTalk Therapy, Gabriel invites you to embark on a journey toward clearer expression and stronger connections—because every voice deserves to be heard.
